This film set out to explore the use of space within the built environment, and in a specific geographical context. The film engages and interacts with the urban landscape and sonic elements or (soundscape) of this space utilizing an audible element to assist my academic research on the geographical representation of place and space through the embodied practice of field recording and film.

This allows me to analyze the ways that sound, movement, and human interaction can define or demarcate a space. Creating an “enacted environment” dependent on the patterns of use, and cultural and social aspects of the space. I sought to capture these relationships and use the film as a way to convey the daily habits and rhythms of those engaging with the landscape, and find a way to communicate the affective nature of walking through and listening while in this space.

This film sets out to engage with the interpersonal relationships within this landscape, and display them for the viewer’s interpretation; it aims to offer the inbetween space as an opportunity for contemplation, reflection, and critical analysis.
