More Than Just Food
Everyday food insecurity in wealthy nations, while causally linked to neoliberal policy decisions, has longer term effects that sediment into places. These effects include reducing diet diversity, increased stress, and a whittling away of social networks due to the lack of affordability of social engagements, many of which include food. This short film considers how two organisations operating in economically deprived localities use surplus food as a mechanism to help expand foodways and reconnect communities.
