Boca Chica
Seventy miles north of the southern border, a community responds to the overwhelming number of migrant deaths, while remembering a time when the border was permeable.

Zhuhai
This film records a train journey from Zhuhai, China northwards in 2018. A section of film is spliced four times with a non-repeating audio soundtrack as well as different visual effects applied to each section. Through the journey, the music, lighting, and repeated viewing shift, changing how the audience views each section of the same journey. The piece seeks to dislodge the viewer from a straightforward narrative or consumptive act. The film invites viewers to consider how their own perspectives and meanings are (re)created from an object that is meant to impart ambiguous information.

Cold Dissent
Since 2015, there has been a growing movement to improve the accessibility of citizens to public spaces across Cairo. These initiatives have helped to change the mindset of the government, the local community, the NGOs, etc., which allowed them, alongside artists, designers and the general Cairenes, to reclaim the right to use such sites. This short documentary highlights two contrasting areas within the Greater Cairo Region, one located at the heart of the metropolitan capital while the other is isolated from the rest of the main urban fabric. From destroying palm trees and public parks to installing high-rise towers within historic sites, this short film presents the overlapping struggles of local communities having different social contexts.

Consequences
What happens to a community when the developers move in?

Here
HERE is a tangential telling of a life story, offering an intimate portrait of a Kentish Town (London UK) local, using architecture and social conditions as indicators of a wider socio-political environment. Dealing with themes of isolation of the elderly and race and class division, this film explores the experience of growing up in a gritty, working class area in the immediate period after the war, and the incredible moment of moving from an urban slum into social housing, followed by the catastrophic dismantling of the system that followed in the decades after and how it ultimately most affected the worst off.

In Between
A short movie about Zhongqiao-Tilan shanty town and its future in Shanghai Metropolis. With the objective of making an alternative urban project for the site, I spent time to understand what and who was already there. I wanted to prove that there was a local cultural and economic richness in this shanty town and that should be considered. I went on site every day during three weeks trying to observe what were the patterns and habits of people living there. Every time I was shooting short sequences. As an introduction to my urban study research, I tried to set orientations at the end of the video.

More Than Just Food
Everyday food insecurity in wealthy nations, while causally linked to neoliberal policy decisions, has longer term effects that sediment into places. These effects include reducing diet diversity, increased stress, and a whittling away of social networks due to the lack of affordability of social engagements, many of which include food. This short film considers how two organisations operating in economically deprived localities use surplus food as a mechanism to help expand foodways and reconnect communities.

Passing Tides
Passing Tides is the story of a young girl, Linh Vu who escaped Vietnam by boat, aged seven in 1979, with her father. After days in the China Sea, when the food had run out, a storm was brewing and Thai pirates were on the horizon, Linh and her father were rescued by a British ship. They were taken to a refugee camp in Singapore and then flown to a camp on Thorney island on the south coast. They finally settled in Hackney, East London. The film draws on Linh's own testimony and drawings of her journey.
